What a beautiful rosé from the Château Figuières winery, which grew its reputation in the Côtes de Provence. This rosé, called Le Saint André, is made from four different grape varieties grown in the south of France. All four grape varieties come from very old vineyards, guaranteeing a powerful and full harvest. Thanks to the nutrient-rich soil structure, where the roots are deeply established, the grapes receive sufficient moisture and finesse. This translates into an affordable and ripe rosé that is beloved throughout France, because for this price point, it is truly a top-notch wine.

The harvest of the Figuieres Méditerranée rosé

At the ideal ripeness of each grape variety, the harvest is brought in. Figuières begins this very early in the morning because the winemaker wants to preserve all the freshness in the rosé. With the utmost care and precision, the grapes are harvested and brought to the press. Here, a light pressing with a brief maceration of the skins awaits. This is how this Méditerranée rosé gets its beautiful light pink color. Once all the wine is available, the blending is made, a process that keeps the winemaker very busy. But leave that to Alain Combard; he knows better than anyone how to make a top-notch rosé.

The smell and taste of the Figuieres Méditerranée rosé

The final juice is truly enchanting, a soft pink color with a very lively bouquet and aromas of light red fruit and grapefruit. But if you swirl this rosé well in the glass, you'll notice more notes, such as peach, lime, exotic fruit, and a touch of passion fruit freshness. The palate is fresh, with a beautiful presence of red fruit like strawberry, raspberry, and currant. The back of the tongue is reminiscent of southern France, with numerous nuances of red flowers, grapefruit, lavender, and a touch of exotic fruit. A lovely fresh finish and ripe aftertaste complete the whole.
