Vintage Report

The year 2023 was rated as an excellent year in this region with a score of 94 points. The quality of the wines from this year is considered outstanding.
We're thrilled with the arrival of this Pinot Noir from the Croix d'Or wine series. The series is known for its excellent price-quality ratio, and now they're adding a full-bodied Pinot Noir to the mix. We tasted it and were impressed with the quality, as we've been for years with Croix d'Or wines. Nestled in the heart of the Pays d'Oc wine region, the vineyards are filled with Pinot Noir. A grape that thrives in a cool climate, the decision was made to plant the vineyards at an altitude of 350 meters. This proved a success, and Croix d'Or is now reaping the finest harvests and attracting considerable attention from competitors. After all, how can a Pinot Noir from this region be so beautiful?

The harvest of the Croix d'Or Pinot Noir

The soil in which the roots grow is crucial for Pinot Noir; with its rich limestone and marl, it's a prime location. The sun works its magic, giving the grapes strength and allowing them to develop into full-bodied bunches. The high altitude allows the vineyard to cool down considerably, with daytime and nighttime temperature differences of up to 20 degrees Celsius. This allows the Pinot Noir grapes to remain cool, resulting in top-quality wine.

What does a Pinot Noir wine taste like?

When poured, a beautiful light red color immediately stands out, a characteristic of the Pinot Noir grape. It bursts from the glass with hints of lavender, black fruit, berries, and oak. Swirl the glass vigorously and you'll also notice hints of red berries and a touch of wild strawberry. The palate is a gem, with hints of cherry, vanilla, and plenty of fresh fruit. A superb glass of Pinot Noir; enjoy it slightly chilled for the best experience.
