2021 was een zeer goed oogstjaar voor Abruzzo, gekenmerkt door gunstige weersomstandigheden die leidden tot een evenwichtige rijping van de druiven. Dit resulteerde in wijnen met een uitstekende structuur en rijke aromatische expressie.

For this red wine, Talamonti has taken a slight detour. This time, they've chosen non-traditional grape varieties. That's why they've clearly chosen a non-Italian name for this beautiful bottle. The blend consists of 70 percent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and 30 percent Merlot. And these two blend together in unique ways to create a beautiful bottle of wine.

A unique blend for Talamonti Kudos

The Talamonti winery established itself in 2001 in the town of Loreto Aprutino. It is a renowned and modern winery, where the entire process, from grape to bottle, is meticulously monitored. Talamonti places great value on the terroir and the region where the grapes are grown. This is reflected in the name and the grapes used. Sustainability is also a top priority, and the wines are produced with great respect for nature. This naturally ensures that the wines are pure, clean, and above all, flavorful. Both grape varieties are harvested entirely by hand around the beginning of October. For the best results, the grapes are vinified separately with a skin maceration of 15 to 22 days. The wines are aged separately in French barriques for 12 months. After this, they are blended and aged for another 12 months in French barrels. To carefully complete the entire process, the wine is aged in the bottle for a further 12 months.

The scent and taste of Talamonti Kudos

But all this for a clear reason. Quality is paramount, as is the explosive flavor. The Kudos shimmers brilliantly red in the glass with violet reflections. A complex nose with blueberries and subtle hints of cherry and blueberry. Thanks to the extended oak aging, the aroma is enhanced by spices, coffee, and vanilla. The palate is concentrated and complex, with distinct layers and subtle tannins. The fruity character is also clearly evident in the palate. A strong wine with an elegant structure.
