Scaia Garganega Chardonnay, as the name suggests, is a white wine made from Garganega and Chardonnay grapes. These grapes grow on chalky volcanic soil locally known as "Scaia." The wine is actually named after the land where the grapes are grown. Scaia wines have been a staple in our selection for years and are here to stay. This white wine is even one of our best-selling Italian wines.

The harvest of the Garganega & Chardonnay

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand. A strict selection process ensures that only the finest fruit is used for pressing. This already suggests that this will be a beautiful, pure white wine. During the blending process, a little more Garganega is added than Chardonnay, giving the wine both a full-bodied and a pleasantly fresh note. We think this has been a resounding success.

The aroma and taste of the white Scaia wine

Pouring this white wine immediately reveals its beautiful golden yellow color with a slight green shimmer. The aroma revealed numerous aromas, almost too numerous to list! Here are some of the beautiful aromas in this Scaia Garganega Chardonnay: pineapple, grapefruit, and orange. There are also some mild aromas of yellow fruit that create a lovely balance. The beautiful fruit nuances are also reflected in the mild flavor of this Scaia white wine. This Italian wine is very soft, ripe, and rounded, with hints of tropical fruits like peach, pineapple, and orange. There are also subtle notes of grapefruit and white flowers.
