Vigne Vecchie Leggenda made from 75 year old vines

The old Primitivo di Manduria vines are at least 75 years old and nourish this wonderful red wine. To ensure this red wine is exceptionally beautiful, considerable work is required both in the vineyards and the winery. The old vines require considerable pruning during the growing season. This allows the nutrients absorbed by the plant to flow as much as possible to the bunches rather than the leaves. When the grapes reach perfect ripeness at the end of the growing season, they are harvested by hand. A very strict selection process is carried out to select the fruit suitable for pressing. This harvest takes place mid-night, ensuring the grapes are still fresh from the dropping nighttime temperatures. The harvested bunches are transported to the winery in small baskets, minimizing damage to the grapes during transit. After the grapes are pressed, the vinification process begins. Finally, this red wine undergoes a long aging process in oak barrels. The wine is now completely perfect, possessing a character that is truly remarkable.
