Here, the grapes are given the opportunity to develop deep roots, allowing them to fully embrace the unique character of the terroir. Although Riesling reigns supreme in these vineyards, the winemaker recently decided to take a bold step and experiment with Sauvignon Blanc. The German climate isn't known for its heat and dryness, but Von Winning is located in the beautiful Palatinate, where success finds its home. Thanks to the influence of the Vosges and Haardt Mountains, Palatinate enjoys an extra 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. It's a paradise for grapevines, and Sauvignon Blanc has also found its place here.
