Vintage Report

2020 was a good harvest year for Mendoza, with wines that generally show beautiful balance and expression. Although there were some challenges, the year resulted in quality wines with good aging potential.
Bodega Salentein is no ordinary winery. This prestigious winery was founded less than thirty years ago, in 1992, by Dutch entrepreneur Mijndert Pon. Indeed, there's a Dutch touch to Bodega Salentein. In recent years, Salentein has grown into an internationally renowned winery. Even in the Netherlands, people can't get enough of Bodega Salentein's wines. They perfectly embody Argentine wines and are crafted with pure craftsmanship. Every sip is a celebration. Salentein's Primus wines are among the winery's finest.

A perfect combination from Argentina

Salentein Primus Pinot Noir is a unique wine. It was discovered that this grape, originally from Burgundy, also produced superb wines in Argentina. Bodegas Salentein's vineyards are immense, covering over 800 hectares. They have many special vineyards, such as the La Pampa vineyard and the San Pablo Estate. 90% of the grapes for Salentein Primus Pinot Noir come from La Pampa, with the remaining 10% coming from the San Pablo Estate. This decision was made by Bodegas Salentein's winemaker, who saw this as the perfect combination. The winemaking process is complex: the wine is unfiltered, allowing it to retain a wealth of flavor during aging. The aging in new French oak for 10 months is excellent!

Why buy Salentein Primus?

Pinot Noir is an odd duck, almost stubborn. But well-executed, it's always the perfect recipe for a delicious wine. Bodega Salentein has perfectly produced the Primus Pinot Noir. The nose is characterized by delicate notes of ripe cherries, berries, and vanilla. Smell again, and tobacco, spices, and a hint of herb emerge. You'll want to take a sip of Salentein Primus Pinot Noir; you can't wait. This mouth-filling wine immediately tantalizes the taste buds. Red fruit, cherries, and toasted oak unfold beautifully on the palate. You'll also taste hints of vanilla, dark chocolate, and spices.
