Vintage Report
The 2024 harvest was perfect, thanks to abundant sunshine combined with cooling winds and sharply dropping night temperatures. Harvesting in the early morning also successfully prevented heat oxidation and damage to the bunches.
Borgo Imperiale is part of the Decordi winery and has been active in Italian viticulture since 1921. The winery has a very long history and owes its fame to the then-increasingly popular Lambrusco wine. Over the years, the winery has invested heavily and adapted to the current tastes of its customers. In 1973, Quirico Decordi Junior joined the prestigious winery. He had one goal in mind: to produce premium wines that were considered top wines for many restaurants. Significant investments were made, and today, the wines are rock solid, including the proseccos of Selezione 21 Prosecco Millesimato.
The harvest for the Selezione 21 Prosecco Millesimato
This Spumante is a true addition to our range because, for this price point, it's truly outstanding. Selezione 21 Prosecco Millesimato is very popular in Italy, and for good reason. Trebbiano and Garganega grapes, sourced from Northern Italy, nourish this Spumante, making it exceptionally soft and refreshing. The grapes thrive in abundant sunshine, but also receive a sufficient amount of cool wind and a sharp drop in nighttime temperatures. The climate allows for a perfect harvest, which is brought in early in the morning. This early harvest prevents damage to the bunches and also prevents oxidation from the daytime heat. What does the Selezione 21 Prosecco Millesimato taste like?
The moment you pour it, you can already see it: a soft Spumante with very fine bubbles. These soft bubbles are a hallmark of Selezione 21 sparkling wines. The aroma reveals a vibrant bouquet of apple, citrus, and ripe white fruit such as pear, apricot, and lychee. The palate reveals a beautiful, very soft mousse—by which we mean the bubbles. But above all, fresh fruit notes of apple, pear, lime, and gooseberry. A truly top-notch wine, and for this price range, a truly TOP-NOT-SIZED wine.Product details
