Vintage Report
2023 was een uitdagend maar uiteindelijk succesvol oogstjaar in de Bourgogne. Ondanks wisselvallige weersomstandigheden werden er wijnen geproduceerd met goede rijpheid, concentratie en een mooie balans.
A beautiful, classic Burgundy made, of course, from the Pinot Noir grape! This Le Renard is a refined and smooth wine with all the wonderful characteristics of Burgundy. This Pinot Noir Burgundy is marketed by Devillard. Their philosophy is to produce the best possible wines, the finest expression of their terroir, characterized by balance and elegance. And this Pinot Noir is an exceptional example of that.
Generations of Devilards wines
The origins of Domaine Devillard winery date back to 1934, when the Marquis de Jouennes d'Herville decided to bottle his wines at the estate. Since then, generations have run this estate. The estate has grown to over 37 hectares, classified as AOC Mercurey, or Mercurey Premier Cru. A significant proportion of Chardonnay is planted, with over a quarter of the plantings being white, while AOC Mercurey as a whole produces primarily red. The Devillard family owns several estates in Burgundy and beyond, including Château de Chamirey in Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine de la Ferté in Givry, and the prestigious Domaine des Perdrix in Côte de Nuits. Quality is always paramount. The family works hard to bring the best of the land together and bring it to the bottle. The vinification of Le Renard Pinot Noir Bourgogne
The red version of Le Renard is vinified largely in the same way as the white. Grapes from the Côte Chalonnaise are combined to create an attractive red Burgundy. The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness, yet with sufficient acidity to give the wines tension and freshness. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel, giving it a unique fruity character. A delicious glass of red wine. The aroma offers a broad bouquet of deliciously sweet fruits like strawberries, cherries, and blueberries. It also offers notes of vanilla, spice, and caramel. The palate is enchanting for this price point; it boasts a full-bodied style. Beautiful Pinot Noir flavors include fresh red and black fruit, vanilla, caramel, and hints of light spice and oak. This Le Renard Pinot Noir pairs wonderfully with wild duck, wild boar, and aged cheese.Product details
