Winemaker Takuan is a much-loved winemaker throughout South Africa, known for his courage and achievements. Because yes, this isn't your everyday glass of wine, but it is incredibly delicious.
This impressive winery was founded in 1694 when the French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan acquired a farm in Franschhoek. He named it Cabriere, after his hometown in the south of France. The winery has been owned by Achim von Arnim since 1982 and is now among the absolute top in South Africa. A wonderful range of challenging wines is produced here, from velvety whites and refined reds to surprisingly sweet wines.

The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes originate from the Western Cape, specifically in Franschhoek. The beautiful vineyards are situated in prime locations and receive the utmost attention from winemaker Takuan. The finest bunches are harvested by hand and gently pressed, ensuring only the finest juice reaches the bottle. This wine is also known as "Still Champagne" because the blend is identical to that of a Champagne bottle.
