The origins of this combination lie with the winery's founder, Miguel Torres, who established this magnificent winery in 1870. He studied at the renowned University of Wine in Spain. He was also the one who introduced French grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to Spain. This further demonstrates the versatility that characterizes Torres. Composition of Torres Vina Esmeralda

Torres Vina Esmeralda is a beautiful duo of two grape varieties not native to Spain: Gewürztraminer and Moscatel. However, through investment, innovation, and sheer courage, Torres has ensured that non-native grape varieties also gained a foothold in Spain. These grapes grow in the Penedes region, at high altitude. This also gives them the necessary freshness, which in turn translates into the sublime aroma and flavor of Torres Vina Esmeralda. Gewürztraminer provides elegance, subtlety, and a slight spice. Moscatel provides the right dose of fruit and a sultry bite. A perfect combination.
