Torres Salmos Priorat: A unique wine from the vast Torres estate. This Salmos Priorat is an excellent blend of grape varieties grown in Priorat, a phenomenal region known for its beautiful red wines. Torres Salmos has only been blended since the late 1990s, but in over 20 years it has already won many hearts.

Priorat wine region

This wine region is considered Spain's treasure trove. Long hidden from the international scene, it has emerged in recent years as a wine-growing gem. The region, one of Spain's smallest, is located near the metropolis of Barcelona. Its dark soils produce powerful red wines that age well. It received DO recognition in 1954. However, the growers have invested heavily and innovated, rewarding them with DoCa recognition in 2009. Since then, demand for Priorat has skyrocketed, simply because of its exceptional quality. Torres Salmos Priorat is no exception.

The composition of Torres Salmos Priorat

This fantastic wine from Torres is made with three grape varieties: the indigenous Garnache and Carinena. Syrah also plays a supporting role, contributing to the robust and rich character of Torres Salmos Priorat. After being hand-harvested, the juice for this Torres Salmos is aged in oak barrels for 14 months. Torres uses special French barrels, some of which are new. This gives this Spanish red wine even more depth and richness.

The smell and taste of Torres Salmos Priorat

The aroma already hints at the fact that this is a sublime glass of wine. Your nose is pampered by broad notes of ripe black fruit and a hint of blossom. Complexity like sweet spices, vanilla, licorice, and bay leaf completes the aroma. Every time you use your nose in a glass of Torres Salmos Priorat, you discover new notes. A delight for wine lovers!
