What purity this white Peñalosa Verdejo has! We tasted this wine and were completely surprised. Who makes this beautiful wine, we wondered? Well, after a bit of research, we discovered that Heradad de Peñalosa is part of Bodega Pascual. A family winery that has been producing beautiful wines in the Rueda region for years and, since 1986, also in the Ribera del Duero region. The winery is located in Fuentelcésped, Burgos, where we find the modern winery and a beautiful cellar. The family has been making wine for centuries, and the estates are known for their refinement and power. Winemakers Félix and Enrique Pascual wanted to further develop this, and they succeeded. These gentlemen are still at the helm of the great ship today, devoting their attention to each wine.

What class and purity this Peñalosa Verdejo has

This top-quality wine is made from only the winery's finest Verdejo grapes. The old vineyards, nestled in a soil where wine has been cultivated since the 14th century, produce premium grapes. The vineyard is situated at a very high altitude, 690 meters above sea level. This allows the Verdejo grapes to enjoy abundant sunlight and cooling winds and nighttime temperatures. The climate in the Rueda is perfect, producing a pure and smooth wine. All bunches are hand-harvested for this white wine at ideal ripeness. Each bunch is inspected, and only the best are used to make this Peñalosa Verdejo.

What does a Verdejo wine taste like?

This Peñalosa Verdejo embodies all the beautiful characteristics of its Rueda habitat. Upon opening, we smell ripe fruit such as apple, pear, and exotic fruits. In the glass, it has a light yellow color with a green hue. With our noses held high, we encounter the most beautiful aromas of green apple, fresh lemon, green herbs like mint, and a touch of white flowers. The palate is a feast for the eyes, with lovely fresh acidity and a vibrant finish. Ripe flavors of white and citrus fruit, complemented by a touch of green herbs, complete the experience. The lovely, fresh finish completes the experience.
