The Spanish 2023 vintage received a top score of 92 in the reference guides. The wines are of excellent quality, but currently generally still young.

This is Escudero's top wine, a true gem of a white wine. Winemaker Diego Escudero is working on several highly innovative projects with the Verdejo grape variety, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with Verdejo. The first of these is the single-vineyard wine Verdejo The Maker Nativo. The goal of this wine is to express the purity of the 50-year-old vines in the Pago de Fuente Elvira terroir as purely as possible. Therefore, this wine is made with spontaneous fermentation and aged at low temperatures in the cellars. The wine is aged on the lees for three months, giving it its full and powerful aroma and flavor.

The label depicts an angel, representing the family and specifically father Pedro Escudero. Winemaker Diego Escudero has the freedom to create this special wine because, thanks to his family, he can produce wine from this beautiful vineyard. On the nose, this white wine has a beautiful bouquet of white fruit, such as apple and pear. The Pedro Escudero The Maker is pure, with exceptionally soft acidity. The palate reveals notes of jasmine, pineapple, peach, and orange peel. This is a very elegant, delicate expression of Verdejo.
