Vintage Report
The 2022 vintage in Castilla y León was excellent, scoring 94T according to Robert Parker. The wines from this region are high quality, still young and powerful, with very good potential for further aging.
A small, hidden Viognier vineyard was discovered while exploring the Valladolid province. This resulted in an aromatic, full-bodied, and full-bodied wine. Highly recommended!
The history of the Jose Pariente winery
The vineyards of the Jose Pariente winery are located in the heart of the Rueda appellation, at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. At this winery, family is at the heart of the winery, where tradition and a passion for fine wine are combined. In the 1960s, Jose Pariente began producing artisanal white wines from grapes of exceptional quality. Today, his daughter, Victoria Pariente, is at the helm. Under her leadership, the winery has become a major player in the Rueda region. With a passion for innovation and utilizing the most advanced technologies, Bodegas José Pariente produces five distinct white wines. Five unique expressions of the terroir's temperament, they simultaneously demonstrate the family's perfect understanding of the land, the vines, the varietals they work with, and the art of winemaking. The grapes for Prieto Pariente wines come from old, very low-yielding vineyards located in Castile and León, in the province of Valladolid, and in the Sierra de Gredos mountain range. In Valladolid, the vineyards are located in three different villages: Mucientes, Pedrosa del Rey, and Valbuena de Duero. Each plot is fermented separately, allowing for the selection of the most suitable blend for each wine. This Viognier is a spontaneously fermented wine, aged partly in stainless steel vats and partly in 300-liter French oak barrels. The wine is aged for six months. The complex aromas of Viognier Prieto
The aroma is a vibrant viognier with complex aromas of tropical fruits, vanilla, and a light spice. On the palate, the age of the vines imparts fresh notes alongside pleasant minerality, with an impressively beautiful finish. With the Prieto Pariente estate, a long-cherished dream of Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente has come true.Product details
