Bodega Pirineos is located in Somontano, a wine region nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Aragon region of Spain. The area distinguishes itself from other Spanish wine regions with its unique climate, special soil conditions, and high altitude. Besides Garnacha, other grape varieties are grown, including Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot for red wines, and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer for white wines. Bodega Pirineos was founded in 1993, after Somontano received DO status in 1984. The three grape varieties are harvested very selectively and brought almost immediately to the winery. Carefully selected indigenous yeasts are used in the production of the wine, which ensures that the unique flavor of Somontano is fully expressed. The wine is fermented at a moderate temperature to preserve the fruity notes. In addition, the grapes are gently macerated to produce balanced and pleasant wines. The result is a well-balanced and complex wine with a full flavor.
