The name Palena is named after the southern tip of Chile, also known as the Lake District. This region boasts pristine forests, waterfalls, and stunning natural areas—in short, a true Chilean gem. This Chardonnay from Palena is also a true gem. This is partly due to the winery's long history, which dates back to 1879. Initially, they produced only sparkling wines, but since 1980, they have also produced still wines. We can be proud of this selection, as the quality of Palena is truly exceptional.

Over the years, the vineyards have matured considerably, producing a top-notch harvest from the Central Valley. The climate here is perfect for Chardonnay grapes. This means abundant sunshine, cool winds from the Andes Mountains, and, of course, rich soil structure. This combination allows Palena to produce a Chardonnay known for its softness and fruitiness.

Wood aging for the Palena Chardonnay

Once the grapes are harvested, they are placed on sorting tables to select only the finest bunches. Some of the wine is then aged in oak barrels, while the rest is left to ferment on the lees. A unique combination that results in a ripe and full-bodied Chardonnay. This Palena Chardonnay has ripe aromas of citrus, orange, pineapple, and mango. Bursting with fruit, it's truly delicious. The mild flavor of the Palena Chardonnay completes the whole experience, as this is such a ripe wine. Slightly creamy and thick, combined with flavors of tropical fruit and apricots, it completes the glass. It's no wonder this Palena Chardonnay is so popular in the hospitality industry; it's a true winner. This white Palena wine also pairs well with dishes such as grilled fish and white meats like chicken and turkey.
