Perfectly ripe grapes for Longavi Glup Cinsault

Friends Julio and David decided to join forces in 2012. Julio is a French wine pioneer who moved to Chile in 1887, where he developed his passion for wine. David owns one of South Africa's most prestigious wineries, Cederberg. Together, they strive to produce wines with freshness, personality, and diversity. They combine grapes and terroir that beautifully express each vineyard. The vineyards for this Cinsault are located in the Itata Valley. Here, the grapes enjoy a beautiful climate, resulting in perfectly ripe grapes. The Cinsault grapes are selectively harvested, entirely by hand and early in the morning, to preserve their freshness. Therefore, the grapes are immediately transported to the winery after harvest, where a careful vinification process begins. A cold maceration process, including the skins, follows for four days at cold temperatures. This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. Finally, the wine is aged for approximately six months in foudres. After the necessary rest, the wine is bottled unfiltered.

Smell and taste of Longavi Glup Cinsault

The Longavi Glup Cinsault has a beautiful light red color in the glass. The aromas are rich with red fruit complemented by various spices. The palate is equally surprising, with soft tannins and a fine acidity. Thanks to the acidity, the wine is superbly balanced. Deliciously refreshing with a long, pleasant finish.
