The 2019 vintage in North Coast was exceptional, scoring 96 points. The wines are of outstanding quality and are approachable for early drinking.

Palermo Cabernet Sauvignon from Orin Swift, contrary to what the name suggests, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. This delicious, full-bodied wine was aged for 12 months in French oak, 38 percent of which was new. A delightful wine with aging potential of 10 to 12 years. During these years, the tannins will soften and the flavor will continue to mature. That doesn't mean this beautiful red wine from Orin Swift isn't ready to drink now.

Under the leadership of Dave Phinney, Orin Swift produces exceptional wines of exceptional quality. All wines feature captivating labels that will repeatedly tempt you to discover what lurks beneath the cork. Each wine is full-bodied and intense, yet with the right structure to hold everything together. Dave isn't afraid to combine different varietals and even appellations to create a unique wine. This means that each wine is rigorously inspected before bottling and marketing. This also applies to this Palermo. The grapes come from old vines, which blend perfectly. Thanks to the ideal climate, the grapes can ripen perfectly. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and gently transported to the winery in small crates. After destemming and pressing, they are left to age for months. After strict quality control, the wine is bottled and released onto the market.

The aroma and taste of the Palermo Cabernet Sauvignon

The nose reveals beautiful aromas of blackcurrant, blueberries, and a subtle hint of butterscotch. The palate is overwhelming and explosive in the best sense of the word. Delicious hints of ripe raspberries, black cherries, caramel, cloves, and licorice. The tannins make this wine a true powerhouse.
