Vintage Report
The 2022 vintage in Graves was rated 89 points, indicating above-average to excellent quality. However, the year was inconsistent, with irregularities even in the best wines.
In one of the richest terroirs of the Graves region, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are planted for the white Graves grapes. The area is rich in pebbles and gravel, allowing the grapes to ripen early and develop their fine qualities. These two white grape varieties complement each other perfectly in the glass. Château Rahoul is a member of the select Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux and owns 40 hectares in this fertile region.
The vineyards of Chateau Rahoul
Chateau Rahoul owns a total of 40 hectares of vineyards in the Gravis wine region and has been owned by the Bordeaux-based merchant Vignobles Dourhte since 2007. Dourhte has a strong reputation in Bordeaux and is one of the most professional merchants in the market. Besides Chateau Rahoul, they own six other wineries, together representing 400 hectares of vineyards. They operate with a highly professional and high-quality approach. Of Chateau Rahoul's 35 hectares of vineyards, only 3.6 hectares are dedicated to white wine production. Sixty-five percent is planted with Semillon, supplemented with Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested entirely by hand in the early morning at peak ripeness. The grapes are then transported to the winery, where they undergo rigorous selection. Alcoholic fermentation and maturation take place in wooden barrels for eight months, allowing the juice to develop its full character. The aroma and taste of Chateau Rahoul Graves White
The white Graves from Château Rahoul is a lemon yellow in the glass with a beautiful green sheen. The aromas of ripe pear and pineapple are evident on the nose. The Semillon wine delivers a very seductive and smooth flavor, with a full-bodied finish. The palate also boasts overwhelming notes of ripe white fruit. It's delightfully refreshing with a perfectly balanced finish.Product details
