The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Clos Henri Estate Sauvignon Blanc Organic is an exquisite white wine known for its refined and elegant character. This wine is produced on the Clos Henri organic estate in Marlborough, New Zealand, where the vineyards are surrounded by lush green hills.

Clos Henri Estate Sauvignon Blanc Organic comes from the enchanting Wairau Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand. This picturesque region offers ideal conditions for the grapes to thrive and is characterized by its unique character. The Clos Henri Estate vineyard is planted with relatively young vines, with an average age between 8 and 13 years. Despite their youth, a deliberate choice was made to plant them closely to increase competition among the vines and limit their vigor. This results in concentrated growth and maximum production of quality grapes. When the grapes are optimally ripe, they are carefully harvested, and 85 percent of the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The goal here is to primarily preserve the fresh character of the Sauvignon Blanc. The remaining 15 percent of fermentation takes place in old French oak barrels, which adds subtle complexity and texture to the wine. After fermentation, the wine is aged for eight months on the lees, the sediment of yeast cells formed during fermentation. During this period, the wine is stirred regularly, a process called batonnage, to extract more flavor and texture from the lees.

The Sauvignon Blanc emerges in the glass with a beautiful pale yellow color. The aroma is inviting and expressive, with intense citrus notes, such as juicy grapefruit and ripe lime, harmoniously blending with hints of exotic fruits like passion fruit and pineapple. Subtle floral notes and a hint of freshly mown grass are also discernible, typical of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The palate offers a refreshing and lively mouthfeel, beautifully balanced between acidity and a soft texture. Crisp notes of citrus, lime, grapefruit, and mandarin orange. These fruity notes are subtly complemented by tropical accents of passion fruit and pineapple, enhancing the wine's complexity. The finish is long and refreshing, with a light minerality that reflects the character of the terroir.
