The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Enter the enchanting world of Can Bas La Creu Sauvignon Blanc, an exquisite white wine that embodies the essence of Catalan winemaking. This remarkable wine, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, is a unique expression of the illustrious Can Bas winery, located in the renowned Penedès wine region of Spain.

The grapes for Can Bas La Creu Sauvignon Blanc originate from limestone soil with a slight salinity. This specific soil contributes to the wine's unique character. The grapes are grown organically, meaning no synthetic chemicals are used and the grapes can ripen in optimal conditions. What makes Can Bas La Creu Sauvignon Blanc special is its name and its symbolic significance. "La Creu" refers to the cross, one of the symbols that best identifies Can Bas wines. It represents the fusion of people, land, heritage, and the wines produced. This wine is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape, which is grown on the plot of the same name, creating a strong connection between the wine and its origins. Can Bas La Creu Sauvignon Blanc is a wine produced with great attention to detail. The grapes are carefully hand-picked to ensure only the finest quality grapes are selected. Subsequently, 35 percent of the wine is aged for six months in new French oak barrels, while the remaining 65 percent is aged in stainless steel tanks for the same period.

The result is a pale yellow wine with greenish hues. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of enticing aromas: think ripe gooseberries, crisp green apple, and subtle hints of exotic passion fruit and papaya. These fresh and vibrant aromas are supported by a subtle hint of minerality, a reflection of Can Bas's unique terroir. A sip of Can Bas La Creu Sauvignon Blanc is an experience in itself. Your taste buds are caressed by a symphony of refreshing citrus and tropical fruit aromas. The palate is characterized by an intriguing complexity: a harmonious balance between vibrant acidity and subtle minerality, which gives the wine its unique structure and depth. The finish is long and refreshing, with a lingering impression of ripe fruit and a hint of refreshing spice.
