A refined bitterness perfectly complements the complex and powerful character of Von Winning Ungeheuer. The Riesling wines of Von Winning
Von Winning wines have been an important part of German viticulture for decades. Thanks in part to their efforts, Riesling has become a source of national pride. Von Winning's vineyards are not particularly large, owning less than 40 hectares, but their dedication is unparalleled. Their vineyards are situated in some of the most beautiful locations in the Palatinate. A significant portion bears the Grosses Gewachts designation, the equivalent of the well-known Grand Cru. Von Winning also has a small vineyard, the Ungeheuer, with a remarkable history. Wine has been produced at the Ungeheuer vineyard for centuries. German historical figures such as Goethe and Otto von Bismarck were great fans of the wine from this vineyard. That this vineyard is a grand cru is clear by now. The Riesling grapes feel perfectly at home in this unique vineyard in the village of Forst. Forst is perhaps the most beautiful village on the entire Weinstrasse. The grapes from here are guaranteed to be a great success. The same applies to the grapes in Von Winning Ungeheuer.
