The 2022 vintage for white wines in the Rhein-Main-Neckar region is rated with an excellent score of 90 to 95 points. The wines show outstanding character, although quality can be inconsistent even among the best producers.

This is a truly special Riesling from the Palatinate. The grapes come from the Herrenletten vineyard, a premium vineyard just south of the village of Haardt. Erste Lage is comparable to Premier Cru from Burgundy. The grapes are therefore of exceptionally high quality. This Riesling is juicy, vibrant, and above all, very surprising.

Quality wines from Von Winning

The Von Winning winery is located in the heart of the Palatinate region in Germany. This area is known for its excellent terroir and long winemaking tradition. The winery's history dates back to 1849 and has since built a strong reputation. Its primary focus is on the Riesling grape. Riesling is the most prominent grape variety in the Palatinate and is known for its ability to produce expressive wines with a wide range of flavor profiles, ranging from dry to sweet. Von Winning has dedicated itself to creating diverse Riesling wines that reflect the region's unique terroir. The Herrenletten vineyard is located on the eastern slope of the Palatinate. The vines are deeply rooted in a loamy, deep soil, allowing them to access water even during dry periods. When the Riesling grapes reach peak ripeness, they are carefully harvested. At the winery, the grapes are selected and pressed. Fermentation then takes place in oak barrels. After a period of rest, the wine is bottled, and we can enjoy this exciting Riesling.

The Von Winning Riesling Herrenletten has a bright, lemon-yellow color. Upon closer inspection, the glass reveals enticing aromas of orange peel, cherry blossom, ripe apricots, and toasted hazelnuts. These aromas combine juiciness with a hint of saltiness. This premium Riesling has a juicy palate with lively acidity, giving it a refreshing character. This Riesling pairs wonderfully with prawns or a fresh salad.
