Vintage Report

The 2018 vintage in New Zealand received a score of 86 points from Robert Parker, indicating an above-average to excellent vintage. The wines from this year are early maturing and very accessible.
New Zealand has been making waves with its white wines for years. New Zealand's white wines top the white wine lists in prestigious gastronomy around the world. And rightly so. But we shouldn't forget that New Zealand also has a talent for producing beautiful red wines. Pinot Noir, in particular, the most widely planted of all red grapes (10%), produces magnificent wines. A completely different style than you're used to from Pinot Noir. The goal of the Wild Rock winemaking team was to create an accessible, distinctive Pinot Noir. They succeeded. With flying colors. A New Zealand showpiece.

Wild Rock's Old Vineyard

The grapes used for Wild Rock Pinot Noir are grown in Marlborough. This renowned wine region is located in the far north of New Zealand's South Island. This area is exceptionally well-suited for grape cultivation. A perfect climate combined with excellent terroir ensures that the finest New Zealand wines originate here. This Pinot Noir is no exception. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the Wild Rock Pinot Noir. After harvesting, the wine is fermented. This Pinot Noir is aged very lightly in oak for approximately seven months. This doesn't add that extra touch, so the wine remains accessible yet exciting.

What does the Wild Rock Pinot Noir taste like?

Pinot Noir lovers, take note! This Wild Rock Pinot Noir will amaze and surprise you. You'll be astonished by the sheer quality this glass of New Zealand red wine has to offer. Spectacular and sensational. Smooth and pleasant. Sharpen your senses. Both the aroma and the taste of this Wild Rock Pinot Noir are almost enchanting. You can clearly smell and taste wild cherries, something typical of Pinot Noir. Aromas of rose petals and a hint of thyme are also present. Both the aroma and the flavor palette are sublime. Smooth and full. Wild Rock Pinot Noir is undoubtedly the best the New World has to offer. We all know the Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, but prepare to be surprised. Try something different from this magnificent wine country. This red wine will amaze you!
