The Granito vineyards typically have shallow, igneous soils. This unique soil structure is often found at high altitudes. This makes the Granito vineyards accessible, fruity, and silky smooth. This is also the case in the Telmo Rodriguez Pegaso Granito.

The Beginning of Telmo Rodriguez

Telmo Rodriguez's life was dominated by wine from an early age. He spent his childhood at his father's winery and earned his oenology degree early on in Bordeaux. In 1994, he embarked on a unique project, which would later be considered perhaps the most ambitious in Spanish winemaking history. He began pressing the finest wines possible in various Spanish wine regions. He collaborates with numerous oenologists in different areas to enhance local wines. The distinctive character of each region is central. The 100 percent Grenache grapes ripen peacefully in the ideal climate of the Castilla y León region. The deep-rooted vines are cultivated traditionally. At optimal ripeness, the grapes are harvested by hand and transported in small boxes. The advantage of this is that the grapes undergo rigorous selection in the vineyard itself, directly improving their quality. The winemaking process begins in the winery, using indigenous yeasts during fermentation. Finally, the wine is aged for approximately 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels.

The fruity aromas of Pegaso Granito

Telmo Rodriguez's Pegaso Granito radiates a ruby red color in the glass. A beautiful bouquet unfolds, revealing aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and spice. A meaty flavor on the palate, well-concentrated with powerful tannins. Fruity notes also emerge on the palate, balanced by a pleasant acidity.
