Domaines Paul Mas was founded in 1892, and its descendants still lead this powerhouse of French wine. They produce excellent wines at a reasonable price. This begins with the numerous vineyards Paul Mas owns. It's not just classic grapes that are planted here. The Gewürztraminer, originally from Alsace, also found a beautiful home on the Paul Mas estate.

The vineyards where Gewurztraminer is planted are situated at an altitude of between 100 and 180 meters. This is considerably higher than other grape varieties in the Domaines Paul Mas range. However, these vineyards boast a unique soil composition: clay combined with limestone. And this happens to be the best terroir for Gewurztraminer; after harvest, you get the very best grapes. A remarkable feature is that the juice is aged for another three months on its own yeast cells, which gives this Gewurztraminer from Jean Claude Mas a slightly creamy texture.
