This beautiful Bacalhôa winery is located on the Setúbal Peninsula, specifically in the small town of Vila Nogueira de Azeitão. The winery has a long history in Portuguese wine. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest in Portugal, without losing its traditions and ancient winemaking methods. Naturally, they have modernized the vinification process to further improve it. In 1998, they took a major step forward when José Berardo took the helm of this beautiful winery. He invested heavily in new grape varieties and entered into a partnership with the Lafitte Rothschild Group.

The old vineyard on the Setúba peninsula

The white grape varieties for this JP Azeitao Blanco come from the Setúba Peninsula. There, Fernão Pires and Muscat grapes grow on old vines, complementing each other perfectly in this white wine. The old vines now produce full, powerful bunches. They reach their full ripeness thanks to the perfect climate with abundant sunshine and, of course, the fresh sea breeze. Once the grapes have reached full ripeness, they are harvested separately. Later, after both grapes have been pressed, the JP Azeitao winemaker creates the blend for this white wine.

Simply a pure, soft white wine from Portugal. The fun begins the moment you open the bottle, as you smell a powerful and fresh aroma of orange blossom, pineapple, and citrus. The palate is wonderfully refreshing with ripe fruit notes of apple, citrus, and ripe tropical fruit. On the palate, a lovely mild flavor with vibrant acidity makes the wine very exciting. This white JP Azeitao Blanco makes a fine aperitif but can also be paired with grilled fish, shellfish, or a fresh summer salad.
