For the 2024 vintage, three coastal regions come together, each contributing its own share to the final wine.
- Location / origin: Monterey County, Mendocino County, and Santa Barbara County in California, United States.
- Regional distribution: 49% Monterey County, 32% Mendocino County, and 19% Santa Barbara County.
- Climate: The vineyards are located in cool coastal zones, where the ocean moderates the heat, allowing the grapes to retain their crisp acidity.
The different vineyard lots are treated separately before the winemaker blends them together.
- Oak aging: Four months, using French and American oak. The wood adds extra layers of aroma and flavor to the wine.
- Sur lie aging: The wine remains in contact with the fine lees, which are stirred monthly. This technique, known as bâtonnage, contributes to the creamy mouthfeel.
A single grape variety gives this wine its broad flavor profile and room for refinement in the barrel.
- 100% Chardonnay – California: Provides ripe fruit, crisp acidity, and the full structure that pairs well with oak aging.
