Bernardus' Californian wines have been exceptional wines of unparalleled quality for generations. This Rosé Coteaux d'Aix en Provence is a wonderful example. Bernardus was founded by Ben Pon, who, after all his success in California, decided to explore other wine regions. He felt a beautiful rosé was still missing from Bernardus's selection. So, Provence quickly became his choice, and we are delighted with his decision.
The origin of Bernardus Rose
The search began through the rugged and breathtaking landscape of Provence. It took some time, but hidden along a winding road, Ben Pon found a magnificent winery. Nestled among the olive and almond trees was LaCoste. The surroundings are phenomenally beautiful and exceptional for viticulture. With respect for the soil and the environment, the finest grapes are grown here. The average age of the vines is between 20 and 30 years. The finest Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet, and Cinsault grapes are harvested for this rosé. These grapes are planted on cool clay-limestone soils, giving the wine a mineral note. A strong wind blows through the vineyard, providing just the right cooling during the dry and sunny summer.
