The Italian wines of Kreyss

Kreyss Winery is located in northern Italy. Roughly halfway between the cities of Bolzano and Trentino, you'll find the breathtaking vineyards of Kreyss Winery. They are situated in Italy's northernmost province, Alto Adige. Everything about this region is unique. But daily life here, in particular, has nothing to do with Italy. The German language is the dominant language. This is evident in everything from the street signs to the restaurant menus. Even when you speak to someone, there's a good chance you'll receive a response in German; over 60 percent of the residents speak German as their native language. This German influence is also evident in the vineyards. While Chardonnay is an internationally renowned grape, Kreyss's vineyards also feature Weissburgunder, a grape grown exclusively in German-speaking wine regions. Kreyss's vineyards are uniquely situated. The Alps block the cool north wind, while at the same time, they receive sufficient heat from the south. This optimizes the growth process of the Chardonnay grapes.
