This French Viognier comes from the far south of France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. The grapes from the old vines provide extra fruit concentration, which contributes to the fresh character of this flavorful and pure wine.

Unique climate for Domaine de Vedilhan

Domaine de Vedilhan is the estate of the Fayet family and is located in the village of Moussan near Narbonne. This family developed a close relationship with the Boutinot family. A stream flows around the estate, providing the necessary water in this very warm climate. This gives the wines the necessary freshness, making this location so unique. The old vines are managed according to the "lutte raisonnée" method, which means a balance is sought between respect for nature and the use of chemicals. The soil consists of limestone, sand, and marine shale, which means the vines dig deep for nutrients, resulting in grapes of excellent quality. Half of the production is used for Boutinot wines. Boutinot wines are exported to over 40 countries, but always with the same objective: producing high-quality wines. The Viognier grapes are harvested early to preserve their fresh aromas. They are carefully transported to the winery where a rigorous selection process takes place. Only the finest grapes are ultimately pressed. The wine is vinified without the use of oak.

The Viognier from Domaine de Vedilhan shines with its light yellow color in the glass. Immediately after pouring, we can enjoy the intense aromas of peaches, pineapple, and a hint of honey. The palate is pleasantly dry, juicy, and smooth. The crisp acidity gives the wine a delightful finish with a subtle bitterness. This white wine can be enjoyed on its own but also pairs beautifully with Thai dishes or meat dishes.
