The Performance series is a technological advancement within the Riedel range.
- Designed by Georg and Maximilian Riedel: 10th and 11th generation within the family business.
- Optical Impact Technology: subtle ribbed structure increases the inner surface of the wine.
- Faster aromatic development: extra contact with oxygen without loss of freshness.
- Grape-specific design: each bowl shape tailored to one grape or wine style.
The ribbed structure supports aromatic expression and enhances the precision of fresh white wines.
The bowl is slimmer than that of the Oaked Chardonnay, but wider than a classic, narrow white wine tulip.
- Slim, slightly flared bowl: maintains freshness and focus.
- Targeted opening: concentrates citrus and floral aromas.
- Optimal fluid guidance: distributes the wine across the mid-palate for balance between acidity and fruit.
This shape is suitable for dry Riesling, but also for aromatic variants with residual sugar where freshness is key.
These glasses are premium machine-made with high precision.
- Premium machine-made crystal glass: consistent shape and perfect balance.
- Ultra-thin rim: refined mouthfeel without a heavy glass experience.
- Lightweight design: elegant and comfortable to use.
- Strong despite thinness: unique production technique ensures structural stability.
- Capacity 0.623 liters: sufficient volume for aromatic development without loss of focus.
- Dishwasher safe: suitable for daily use.
Premium machine-made means that the glasses are produced mechanically with extreme accuracy, combining thinness and durability.
The bowl shape supports Riesling's high acidity and ensures that fruit notes such as citrus and stone fruit emerge clearly and precisely. Minerality and tension remain intact because the glass guides the wine across the palate in a controlled manner.
The set is not only suitable for Riesling. We also like to use this glass for Grüner Veltliner or other fresh, aromatic white wines where acidity and precision are central.
Riedel is an Austrian family company with over 260 years of experience in glass production. The brand became globally known for developing grape-specific glasses, where the shape of the glass directly influences taste perception. Under the leadership of Georg and Maximilian Riedel, the company continues to innovate with series such as Performance, where design and functionality come together to enhance wine expression.
