This beautiful white Sauvignon Blanc owes its name, "Twin Island," to New Zealand's two largest islands. The winery was founded in 1992 with a single goal: to create the finest Sauvignon Blanc in the Marlborough region. The winemaker has a wealth of experience and knows how to handle his Sauvignon Blanc grape like no other. The winery behind this Twin Island is Nautilus, a highly renowned winery with a rich history. And we taste that in the rich flavor of this white wine.

The Sauvignon Blanc harvest from Twin Island

The beautiful vineyards filled with Sauvignon Blanc grapes receive everything they need: warm, sunny spring and summer days. But even more important, the sea breeze and the cool nighttime. This coolness is essential to preserve the freshness of the grapes, and this Twin Island wine certainly achieves that. Once the grapes are ready to be harvested after a long maturation period, the harvest begins. This always takes place early in the morning to protect the Sauvignon Blanc grapes from oxidation and bruising during transport. The robust bunches are transported in small crates to Twin Island for immediate, soft pressing. Winemaker Clive Jones allows the wine to mature in the cellar for several months before we can enjoy this superb wine.

Full and very powerful this Twin Islands Sauvignon Blanc

A typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with all the beautiful characteristics of the region. As soon as the cap is opened, you immediately smell an interplay of green apple, lime zest, and green herbs like mint. At first sip, we were surprised and intrigued by this Twin Islands Sauvignon Blanc. The palate revealed plenty of white and citrus fruit notes, along with a touch of asparagus. On the back of the palate, there was a lovely minerality and freshness of gooseberry and grapefruit. What a gem!
