When we think of sunshine, we think of rosé wines. Think a little longer, and we arrive in the south of France, the place for growing grapes for perfect rosé wines. And when we're also looking for a top-quality rosé at a great price, we stop at the Les Collines du Bourdic winery. They certainly know how to offer excellent value for their wines. Near the historic town of Nîmes, we find this beautiful winery. A modern winery with a rich history, it began as a wine cooperative in 1928. Back then, a number of very ambitious winemakers joined forces, leveraging their expertise and grapes to create superb wines at a perfect price. The cooperative has since dissolved, and the winery is now fully independent. The quality of the wines is further reinforced year after year by the numerous prestigious awards the winery receives!
A real prize winner, this Heritage rosé
One of these award-winning wines is the Heritage Rosé. A delicious rosé from the Heritage series, a series of wines that offers excellent value for money and remains consistent year after year. It's no wonder we've been carrying these wines for years. The deeply rooted vines for this rosé, which we also see on the label, have reached a good age. This allows the Grenache Noir grapes to thrive in the warm southern French climate. Because the roots penetrate deeply into the ground, the plants can draw sufficient moisture from the soil for extended periods during the hot summer season. Because the vineyards are situated at a higher elevation, there's always a pleasant breeze in the vineyards, providing just the right amount of cooling. Perfect conditions for producing a superb rosé wine. When the grapes have reached the right ripeness, the harvest begins early in the morning. When we see this Grenache rosé in the glass, we're enchanted by its pure, light pink color. Yes, that well-known rosé color characteristic of rosé wines from the south of France. The aroma is subtle, with pleasant hints of young red fruit like strawberries and raspberries. What makes this rosé mysterious and incredibly interesting is its light, spicy note. Because this rosé has been aged in steel barrels, it's a wonderfully fresh wine. When we taste this wine, the freshness is very pleasant. This makes it easy to drink, yet still with the right flavors. The notes of strawberries and raspberries reappear delightfully.
