Champagne Boizel Rosé Absolu 0.375L

Champagne Boizel Rosé Absolu 0.375L is the half bottle of a refined rosé Champagne from Épernay, made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. The cuvée gets its rosé color and red fruit aromas from a small addition of red Champagne wine from Pinot Noir. This keeps the style delicate and fresh, but at the same time gives the wine more structure, roundness and depth than a simple rosé bubble.

Vineyards and region

Rosé Absolu comes from Champagne, with an important role for Pinot Noir from classic red wine villages within the region.

Location / Origin: Champagne Boizel is located on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. From this historic location, the house produces rosé Champagne with grapes from the Champagne region.

Red wine in the blend: The red Champagne wine that is added comes from Pinot Noir from Cumières and Les Riceys. These villages are known within Champagne for their suitability for red wine, which is important for color, structure and aroma in Rosé Absolu.

Champagne style: Rosé Absolu is a brut rosé Champagne with a delicate style, fine mousse and clear notes of red fruit. The 0.375L half bottle is especially practical when you want to serve a smaller party or 1 festive moment.

Grape composition

Champagne Boizel Rosé Absolu is made from the 3 classic grape varieties of Champagne.

40% Pinot Noir – Champagne: Pinot Noir forms the backbone of this rosé Champagne and gives character, structure and finesse. Of this share, 8% is vinified as red wine for extra color and aroma.

30% Chardonnay – Champagne: Chardonnay brings refinement, freshness and elegance to the blend.

30% Meunier – Champagne: Meunier gives fruity roundness and makes the taste fuller and more accessible.

Vinification and maturation

The strength of Rosé Absolu lies in the blend, where red Champagne wine, reserve wines and aging on the lees together provide complexity.

Blend: Why red wine in rosé Champagne? A small amount of red Pinot Noir wine gives Rosé Absolu its pale rosé color, red fruit aromas and extra structure in the taste.

Reserve wines: The cuvée contains 30% reserve wines. Of these, 4% matures in foudres, large wooden barrels that give subtle depth and extra complexity without overpowering the fresh style.

Aging: Rosé Absolu ages for 3 years on the lees. This aging on fine yeast cells gives the mousse more finesse and provides extra length and texture.

Dosage: With 7 g/l dosage, this Champagne remains dry and fresh, while there is enough roundness to beautifully carry the red fruit.

Tasting notes and serving tips

In the glass, Rosé Absolu is pale pink with golden copper reflections and fine, lively bubbles. The nose is subtle and fruity, with wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry, complemented by citrus, light spiciness and a mineral undertone. The taste is satin soft, fresh and generous, with an elegant, long finish.

Serving temperature: Serve this rosé Champagne at 8–10 °C, so that the fine mousse, the red fruit and the fresh citrus remain beautifully crisp.

Dishes: Delicious as a refined aperitif and excellent with charcuterie, lamb, poultry, light dishes with red fruit and desserts with strawberry or raspberry.

Awards

90/100, Wine Enthusiast: Rated as Excellent, with appreciation for the fragrant rosé style, ripe fruit, citrus, red berries and immediate drinkability.
