Today, the third generation of winemakers is at the helm of the family estate. The Domaine Malet winery is located in the heart of the Touraine wine region. Their winemaking expertise is immense, having been passed down from father to son. Brothers Alain and Bruno Malet have been making their own wine for several years now, as in previous years their father and grandfather sold the grapes to a large cooperative. The brothers wanted to do things differently, seeing their vineyards as gold, and that has certainly proven true. In 2001, they made their first wine, and what a wine it was! A deep and fresh Sauvignon Blanc that was immediately praised for its purity.

The Malet family currently owns a whopping 40 hectares of old vineyards. The thick trunks are planted in a calcareous and nutrient-rich soil structure, providing the grapes with everything they need. The warmth of the sun determines the ripening process, which is extended by the fresh wind from the land. This allows the Sauvignon Blanc grapes to ripen long and evenly. Once fully ripe, the grapes are partially harvested by hand in the early morning. The family is already at Domaine Malet, ready to sort through each grape. Only the finest grapes are used in this white wine, which determines its purity.

The result is a beautiful, classic Touraine Sauvignon—what a feast! And that feast begins the moment we open the bottle. It smells exquisite, with abundant ripe notes of citrus and lime. In the glass, it emanates a light yellow color with abundant green glints. Nosing it, we're transported to mainland France, with its abundance of white flowers, minerals, and, of course, notes of white and citrus fruit. On the palate, this white Domaine Malet offers all the beautiful impressions of Touraine Sauvignon, fresh on the palate with abundant citrus fruit and green herbs. It also reveals nuances of grapefruit, passion fruit, and a hint of mint and green pepper with a delicate crunch.
