Weingut Polz is a family-owned winery located in Southern Styria, Austria, that has been producing top-quality wines for over a century. The winery's history began in 1912 when Johann Polz laid the foundation on the Grassnitzberg. Now, four generations later, the winery is run by brothers Walter and Gerhard Polz. Polz's vineyards are situated on steep slopes in Southern Styria, where the soil is rich in minerals and the climate is ideal for growing grapes. The success of Weingut Polz is due to their dedication to quality and respect for nature. Polz wines are refined, complex, and have a distinctive character. For Polz Welschriesling Sudsteiermark, the grapes are carefully hand-picked, ensuring that only the finest and ripest grapes are selected. After pressing, the juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. The use of these tanks preserves the fresh and fruity character of the grapes. After fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees (sur lie) for several months, contributing to the wine's texture and aromatic complexity.
