Le Grand Noir Chardonnay Pays d'Oc

Le Grand Noir puts a modern twist on Southern French Chardonnay with a clever dash of Viognier for added aroma and excitement. It originates in the Pays d'Oc region of Languedoc-Roussillon, where sunshine and cool influences combine to create fresh, accessible wines. What is the blend of this Le Grand Noir Chardonnay? 85% Chardonnay and 15% Viognier.

Vineyards and region

The grapes come from France, Languedoc-Roussillon, within the IGP Pays d'Oc. The Mediterranean climate produces ripe fruit, while the altitude and proximity to the sea preserve freshness. The result is a style that emphasizes purity and aromatic expression.

Vinification and maturation

The cuvée is composed of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Viognier. The aroma profile reveals a subtle hint of oak, along with tropical fruit and ginger, which adds complexity to the wine without sacrificing its freshness.

Grape composition

Chardonnay – Pays d'Oc
Contributes exotic fruits and citrus.

Viognier – Pays d'Oc
Adds fragrant nuance and roundness.

Tasting notes and serving suggestions

Light straw yellow with golden highlights. The nose reveals pineapple, mango, and a subtle hint of oak and ginger. The palate is fresh, with exotic and citrusy notes, delicate and distinctive in the mouthfeel. Versatile at the table: perfect as an aperitif, with various zakouski, beautifully grilled fish, and an oriental curry dish. Ages well for 3 years.
