The 2023 vintage in the Rhône region was excellent, with ratings reaching up to 96 points. This indicates a year that produced wines with great richness, finesse, and high quality.

This beautiful family winery has been one of the Rhone's top producers for years, and it's no wonder, given the family's long history in wine. Domaine Yves Cuilleron has existed since 1920, and they worked hard to make the vineyards shine. By 1947, the grapes were in peak condition, and Yves was selling his wines worldwide. His uncle was appointed manager in 1960, and it proved to be a success. Together, they elevated the wines to a top level, a quality we can still taste today in the rich wines. In 1987, it was Yves's turn to take over the business, choosing to settle at his mother's estate, Verlieu. The wines are still produced with love and passion, and you can taste the difference.

Yves Cuilleron's old Marsanne vineyard

The vineyards are ancient and situated in the best locations. Surrounded by narrow gorges, steep slopes, and the most beautiful terraces, Marsanne grapes are grown. Nature provides the Marsanne with everything it needs: warmth from the sun, cool winds, and, of course, a soil structure that has served as a vineyard for centuries. Imagine how many leaves and twigs are woven into the rich soil structure! Yes, a lot at once, and that gives the harvest a great deal of richness and finesse. All grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the finest bunches are used in this white wine. This results in a juice that is exceptionally pure and gives this wine great power.

Full and very powerful this Yves Cuilleron Marsanne

After pressing, this Marsanne is partially aged in oak barrels in the cellars of Domaine Yves Cuilleron. This gives the wine its strength and richness in both aroma and taste. This is also clearly evident in the aroma, which offers impressions of fresh flowers, honeysuckle, a touch of roasted hazelnuts, and a subtle hint of peach. The palate is broad and powerful, with nuances of apricots, peaches, nuts, vanilla, and, of course, some fresh wood. The finish is ripe and particularly long, with plenty of juiciness.
