Piedmont traditionally produces primarily top-quality red wines, but the northern Italian region also boasts some charming white wines. This Italian white wine, Roero Arneis, is from the Batasiolo winery.

Wines from the Batasiolo estate

Batasiolo Winery is one of the finest wineries in Piedmont, whose wines regularly receive awards. In 1978, the Dogliani brothers purchased the Kiola winery in La Morra. Founded in 1950, it comprises seven farms and vineyards. With the addition of this large winery and its own land, the estate now comprises nine farms and 264 hectares of vineyards. These vineyards have contributed significantly to the worldwide fame of Italian wines. Batasiolo cultivates grapes in many different zones of the northern Italian region to produce the widest possible range of wines. The program includes grappas, sparkling wines, white wines, and reds. Roero Arneis is an Italian white wine, whose grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September. They are immediately destemmed, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks for five to seven days. The Roero Arneis Italian white wine then remains in the stainless steel tanks until bottling. Quality is paramount throughout the entire vinification process, and the juice is continuously monitored and refined.

The flavors of Batasiolo Roero Arneis

The Roero Arneis is straw yellow in color with a faint orange sheen. The aroma is fresh and fruity, with delicate aromas of citrus and yellow fruit, along with a hint of hay. The taste is dry with a pleasant bitterness, subtly revealing the citrus nuances. The finish is delightfully refreshing and even slightly spicy. Delicious with Vitello tonnato, ribbon pasta with salmon, or poultry.
