On the Rioja winemakers' podium, Bodega Roda will undoubtedly take the top spot. No winery produces finer and more authoritative wines than Bodega Roda. And that's unique. While many wineries have centuries of history, Bodega Roda's history dates back only to the early 1980s, when two unconventional winemakers, Mario Rotllant and Carmen Daurella, co-founded Bodegas Roda in an old working-class neighborhood in the city of Haro. Now, forty years later, they have created a new, top-tier Rioja wine and ensured that the overall quality of the Rioja has actually improved even further.

The finest wines from Rioja

The most important grape in Rioja is undoubtedly the Tempranillo. This is also the case in Bodega Roda's vineyards. The winery uses grapes from 120 hectares of vineyards, 70 of which are owned by the winery. Because of the excellent climate in Rioja Alta, the best part of the Rioja, Bodega Roda's grapes are of exceptionally high quality. Besides the popular Tempranillo, other typical Rioja grapes, such as Graciano and Garnacha, are also planted.

The wines of Bodega Roda

Bodegas Roda's selection is extensive and offers something for everyone. Five different wines dominate the Rioja wine market. These include Bodega Roda Sela Rioja and Bodega Roda La Horra Corimbo, two wines primarily made with the Tempranillo grape. There's also Bodega Roda Reserva Rioja, a classic Rioja blend of Garnacha, Graciano, and Tempranillo. Bodega Roda also boasts a few crown jewels, with the absolute standout being Bodega Roda Cirsion Rioja, considered the finest red wine from Rioja.

Bodega Roda wines are delicious and always enjoyable. The only downside is that it's only one bottle. After six glasses, the party is unfortunately over. A terrible shame, especially in a larger group. Fortunately, Bodega Roda has also bottled one of its flagship wines in a Magnum: the Bodega Roda Reserva Rioja. This means you get a whopping one and a half liters of this classic Rioja blend in one bottle. That can only be enjoyable.
