When we say Chanel, everyone thinks of the world-famous fashion house. This designer house also has a fantastic winery on the island of Porquerolles. Located just a stone's throw from France's Côte d'Azur, the island boasts steep cliffs, white beaches, and fragrant eucalyptus and pine trees. Chanel has several vineyards on Porquerolles where they produce two exclusive wines. The number of bottles is limited because expansion on the island is limited. But the grapes harvested there are unique, just like the rest of the Chanel collection.

The vineyards planted with Rolle grapes are fully certified organic, which partly explains the pure and clean style of this white wine from Domaine de l'Ile. The Porquerolles vineyards are decades old and have deep roots in the subsoil of abundant old schist (and clay), just like in the best wine regions of Provence. The Rolle bunches thrive in the warm climate with a strong maritime influence. The fresh breeze through the vineyards contributes to the purity and freshness of this white wine. There is a constant mist here, and dew is also common, even in summer.

Beautiful flavors of cultivated pear, grapefruit, citrus peel, and green apple complete this refreshing wine. A light salty note on the back of the tongue, emanating from the ocean breeze, completes the picture perfectly, and this white Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles is best compared to a top-quality Sancerre or, of course, a fine glass.
