Vintage Report
The 2011 vintage in Chianti Classico received a score of 88, indicating above-average to excellent quality. The wines from this year are currently considered fully mature.
A superb dessert wine from Tuscany, Italy, considered one of Italy's most beautiful regions. Vin Santo is an exquisite, sweet wine with a rich, golden hue, made exclusively in Tuscany from withered grapes. The grapes for Vin Santo are harvested early to maintain their acidity and then dried for three months. After pressing, fermentation and aging follow, and then we can enjoy this gem.
Quality wines from Viticcio
The Italian winery Viticcio is located in one of Tuscany's most beautiful regions. Its vineyards are nestled on the rolling hills of the hamlet of Greve in Chianti. Since 1964, wines have been produced here with great passion and care. It is a progressive winery that is incredibly successful with its high-quality wines. The winery owns a total of 58 hectares of vineyards, where Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, and Vermentino grapes are grown. Vin Santo literally means "holy wine" and is made from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are dried for several months. They are then pressed, and the must is stored in small chestnut barrels called caratelli. This is followed by fermentation and aging on the lees for an impressive seven years. It is during this period that the wine develops its unique character.A pearl among dessert wines
A true gem among dessert wines—that's how we can best describe this Vin Santo. A delicious, exclusive Italian wine that sparkles in the glass with its amber color. We immediately smell delightful aromas of dried apricots, figs, vanilla, and roasted nuts. The palate is delightfully sweet combined with crisp acidity. Perfectly balanced. Thanks to its oak aging, it has a warm character and is absolutely world-class. A wine that makes the perfect ending to a delicious dinner.Product details
