The year 2020 was excellent for Languedoc with a score of 92 points. The wines show excellent quality but retain a youthful character.

The sun-drenched vines of Chateau Maris are found in the south of France. It is in this wild environment that MARIS wines are made from organic grapes grown in an environment that promotes biodiversity and sustainability. They work with respect for nature, and nature in return yields beautifully ripe grapes for even more exquisite wines.

Manual harvest for Maris Naive

Château Maris comprises 79 hectares of hand-harvested, biodynamically farmed vineyards. The estate owns workhorses used to plow the vineyards. Barley, bulgur, and mustard are grown between rows and then re-plowed into the soil along with organic compost to enrich the land and prevent monoculture. Winemaker Robert Eden is responsible for Château Maris's finest wines. He has lived in France since the 1990s, having worked with experienced winemakers around the world. The château is located in the high-altitude vineyards of the Minervois region and was founded in 1997. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand to ensure only the finest grapes are used. The winery operates according to traditional methods. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. This is followed by four weeks of fermentation and maceration. Finally, the wine is aged for another four months in wooden barrels, giving it a touch more character.

The scent and taste of Maris Naive

Deep red color with purple hues. Elegant aromas of red fruit like pomegranate and cherry complemented by wild Mediterranean herbs. A medium-bodied wine with a fresh mouthfeel, delightful roundness, and a juicy and lively character. This red wine pairs well with meat dishes or a refreshing summer salad.
