The mountainous region provides the necessary protection from the elements in the valleys. And the mountain winds ensure sufficient cooling. The temperature differences between day and night are significant, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly and develop beautiful acidity and aromas. The environment and its climatic characteristics have led to the cultivation of many different grape varieties and, consequently, the production of diverse wines. Quality has always been a priority and is therefore very high. The region is vast, and thanks to its accessible climate, it offers ample space for a wide variety of grape varieties. We find the well-known Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Riesling, and Pinot Blanc, as well as the typical Trentino grapes Marzemino, Teroldego, Rebo, and Nosiola. Teroldego is an interesting grape variety and produces powerful wines. It is primarily grown in the Trentino valley on gravelly soils. Most wineries age this grape in oak, giving the wine depth, complexity, and a full flavor. The Rebo grape, a cross between Teroldego and Merlot, produces robust red wines.
