Vintage Report
The 2022 vintage for white wines in Trentino-Alto Adige received a score of 87 points. The wines from this year are described as good quality and are currently excellent for drinking.
This wine transports us to the sun-drenched slopes of the Merano and Val Venosta regions. Here, on the poor soils and under the radiant sunlight, the Pinot Bianco grape thrives like nowhere else. For over 150 years, this grape variety has been successfully cultivated in South Tyrol, and today it has become a true superstar among white grape varieties. Meran Festival Weissburgunder is living proof of this grape's greatness and versatility.
The unique terroir for Meran Festival Weissburgunder
Meran Festival Weissburgunder originates from the enchanting vineyards of Labers, Marlengo, Merano, and Tirolo. At altitudes between 450 and 550 meters, the vineyards where the Pinot Bianco grapes grow thrive. The vines are between 5 and 30 years old, creating a harmonious balance between youthful vitality and deep-rooted character. The roots extend into the light, permeable, loamy-sand moraine soils. This terroir gives the wine a unique expression and refined minerality. After careful harvesting at optimal ripeness, the grapes are taken to the winery. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks, preserving the natural aromas and freshness of the grapes. A portion of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. The wine is then carefully stored and aged on the fine lees for five months, allowing it to further develop its character and texture. This process results in a wine of exceptional quality, with a refined balance of fruitiness, freshness, and structure. The flavors of Meran Festival Weissburgunder
The result is a wine with a lemon-green color and delightful aromas. On the nose, fresh aromas of juicy green apples and citrus fruits unfold. These lively and fruity notes create a delightful sensation. With the first sip, a complexity unfolds, revealing the true character of this wine. Meran Festival Weissburgunder delights the palate with a harmonious balance of various elements. The lively acidity provides a refreshing taste, while simultaneously offering depth and complexity. The fresh flavors of green apples and citrus fruits are complemented by subtle hints of riper fruit.Product details
