Vintage Report
The 2024 growing season in Sicily was characterized by high temperatures, with the sea breeze providing much-needed cooling for the grape bunches. By harvesting the grapes early in the morning at the beginning of September, top quality was achieved while maintaining optimal freshness.
The Canapi winery has a long history and is named after a knot. Specifically, a sailor's knot, which is also depicted on the label, because Canapi literally means "knot" in Sicilian. The sea plays an important role in the wines, providing cooling for the grapes. This is essential, as Sicily can get very hot. The wines are also almost always transported by sea to the end consumer. This is how the name Canapi originated, and it has borne this name for many years. It is a true family business where quality and finesse are paramount. Canapi's vineyards are located in the best locations on the beautiful island of Sicily. Thanks to hard work, the vineyards are now producing a top harvest.
