Vintage Report

The 2021 vintage in Piedmont has received an excellent rating of 96 to 97 points from Robert Parker. The red wines from this year are of exceptional quality, but currently very youthful and high in tannins.
An Italian gem from Piedmont. That's the best way to describe this Dolcetto D'Alba Doc. Production is handled by the renowned Batasiolo winery. They prove that quality is paramount and that only the finest grapes make it into the bottle.

The quality wines of Batasiolo

Beni di Batasiolo is the largest family-owned winery in the Italian region of Piedmont. Since 1978, the winery has grown to over 320 hectares of vineyards. The Dogliani family works with the land and allows nature to flourish, ensuring the quality of their wines is paramount. Batasiolo's vines flourish in various vineyards across Piedmont. The soil, climate, and location of the estates nestled in the hills produce a range of noble, elegant wines. Emphasis is placed on achieving the characteristic characteristics of the varietal. The entire range is therefore characterized by a high level of quality. In addition to the classic Barolo and Barbaresco wines made from the Nebbiolo grape, Batasiolo also produces Dolcetto, Barbera, Chardonnay, Spumanti, and Gavi de Gavi. The winery also has several grappas made from various grape varieties in its portfolio. The "Bricco di Vergne" vineyard is located at an average altitude of 480 meters above sea level, between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, offering stunning views of the Barolo vineyards and the Piedmontese Alps. Harvest takes place at the end of September. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures of 22-26 degrees Celsius for 7-10 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in the tanks for a period of time before bottling and aging in the bottle for a few more months before being released for sale.

What does Batasiolo Dolcetto D'Alba Doc taste like?

Batasiolo Dolcetta d'Alba is a pleasant red wine. It has a ruby red color. The aroma is inviting, with fresh, young red fruit notes and a light floral touch. The palate is wonderfully sultry and smooth, with delicate nuances of red fruit, a hint of pepper, and vanilla. The finish is wonderfully smooth and, in our opinion, could linger forever!
