Vintage Report
The 2022 vintage in Argentina is rated as excellent with a score of 95. The wines from this year are of outstanding quality but are currently still characterized by a powerful and youthful tannic profile.
Zuccardi's Polígonos series explores the various aspects of terroir, including climate, soil, and social, economic, and historical factors of the area from which the wines originate. The vineyards are named after the people of the surrounding area. Each wine is made from a single grape variety; for example, this red wine is made entirely from Malbec grapes from the Uca Valley vineyard.
The excellent wines of the Zuccardi Estate
The Zuccardi estate, located in Mendoza, Argentina, is renowned for its excellent wines. Sebastián Zuccardi, the third-generation winemaker in the Zuccardi family, has led the company since January 2000. The estate's history began in 1963, when Sebastián's grandfather planted the first hectare of vines in Maipú. Today, the estate comprises over 200 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Andes Mountains, whose wines reflect the rich terroir of the Uco Valley. The vineyards are planted with various grape varieties, including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo. Zuccardi wines are praised for their complexity, elegance, and ripeness and have frequently been nominated for prestigious international awards. The Zuccardi family remains committed to innovation and sustainability in their winemaking processes. The grapes for this wine are grown in the Gualtallary region of Mendoza at an altitude of 1300 meters. Warm, sunny days alternate with cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally and evenly. The soil consists of chalky loam, a soil structure derived from the river that once flowed here. This unique terroir produces complex, mineral wines with rich berry flavors and a pleasant tannic structure. The grapes are carefully harvested when perfectly ripe, then gently pressed and fermented with natural yeasts in concrete vats. The wine is then aged in small concrete vats after fermentation. The powerful taste of the Poligonos Gualtallary Mendoza Malbec
The Poligonos Gualtallary Mendoza Malbec has a powerful flavor with distinct aromas of ripe cherries and plums, complemented by subtle mineral notes. The palate is full-bodied and robust, with dominant fruit aromas, sweet spices, and ripe tannins. The finish is long and harmonious. This wine is perfect for serving with a wide variety of dishes, from red meat to bolder flavors such as grilled vegetables or cheese platters.Product details
